The Baltimore Ravens have signed guard Michael Schofield.

Schofield was drafted in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. Since entering the league, he has started a total of 69 games with the Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, and most recently the Carolina Panthers. In his career, Schofield has played both right tackle and guard, so his versatility gives him added value as a depth option. In 2020, Schofield appeared in 11 games for the Panthers playing a total of 270 offensive snaps. In that time, he allowed four sacks and picked up three penalties.

With the addition of Schofield, the Ravens now have many options at guard. Kevin Zeitler should be penciled in as a starter, but the other spot will likely come down to a competition. Ben Cleveland, Patrick Mekari, Ben Powers, Tyre Phillips, Ben Bredeson, and Trystan Colon-Castillo are all capable of playing the position. No matter who wins the starting job, the Ravens will have a lot of depth.
