Good morning Gang Green Nation! Another year, another wait for the Jets to sign their top draft picks. The Jets’ top two picks from the 2023 NFL draft, Will McDonald and Joe Tippmann, remain unsigned. This is not particularly unusual just yet. 20 of the top 50 picks in the 2023 NFL draft remain unsigned to date. However, for the Jets this is part of a larger pattern. The Joe Douglas regime almost always waits until the last minute to sign their top draft picks. As long as the Jets get their guys signed in time for training camp, hey, no harm, no foul. But it just seems a little strange how, in a world where nearly all significant terms of rookie deals are predetermined, the Jets somehow manage to drag out negotiations like clockwork year after year.
