Last night, Jets rookies Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson were named the AP’s Defensive and Offensive Rookies of the Year, respectively. Gardner beat out the likes of Tariq Woolen and Aiden Hutchinson, while Wilson was able to sneak past Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker. It’s also worth pointing out that if Breece Hall didn’t get injured midway through the season, he would’ve had an excellent chance to win the OROY honors himself. That being said, all in all the 2022 draft class was a master class for Joe Douglas. If Jermaine Johnson can find himself to become a stud then the class could be one of the best overall in Jets’ history.
