The Jets close Week 11 as 3.5-point road underdogs to the 5-4 New England Patriots. The line opened at +4.5 earlier in the week and has been bet down in the Jets’ favor to 3.5 points less than 24 hours before kickoff.

New York Jets at New England Patriots moneyline

  • New York Jets: +148
  • New England Patriots: -176

The Jets are heading to New England looking to end a 13-game losing streak to the Patriots that has seen many massive blowouts in New England’s favor. Just last season, the Jets were outscored 79-19 across two losses to the Patriots.

The Jets have not beaten New England in Foxborough since January 16, 2011, in the AFC Divisional Round. In the regular season, the Jets’ last win in New England came on November 13, 2008, when Brett Farve was their starting quarterback.

If the Jets can contain New England’s rushing attack, they could leave Foxborough with a massive win. This will keep the Patriots in third down and long and make Mac Jones beat them through the air. Jones has yet to build off of his strong rookie year and has only thrown 4 touchdown passes against 7 interceptions.

New York Jets at New England Patriots over-under

  • New York Jets at New England Patriots over-under: 38.5
  • Over: -106
  • Under: -114

The Jets are set for another divisional game this week when they square up against New England on Sunday. Divisional games later in the season trend toward the under because of familiarity with the opposing team. The Jets and Patriots have both gone under in each of their past two games (which includes the last meeting between these teams).

I would lean toward the under in this game because both defenses are much better than their offenses. The Jets and Patriots both have top-10 defenses in terms of points allowed per game and each unit continues to show up every week.

Both defensive lines have been dominant all season and I expect that to continue this week. The Patriots are second in the NFL in sacks this season with 32 while the Jets are 12th with 26. This should help the under as both quarterbacks will be miserable all game.

New York Jets at New England Patriots injuries

Wide receiver Corey Davis has been ruled out as he will miss his third straight game after suffering a knee injury in Week 7. Defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins has also been ruled for Sunday while he is nursing an elbow injury. Kenny Yeboah is doubtful with a calf injury and guard Nate Herbig is questionable with a shin injury but should play.

Defensive lineman Christian Barmore has been ruled out for New England. Punter Jake Bailey is listed as doubtful with a back injury. Anfernee Jennings, DeVante Parker, and Josh Uche are all listed as questionable for Sunday.
