After an easy win over the banged-up Chicago Bears, the Jets opened as 3.5-point road underdogs to the 9-2 Minnesota Vikings. Mike White will lead the Jets into Minnesota, looking to continue the push toward their first playoff appearance in over a decade.

Minnesota has been somewhat of a surprise this year. The Vikings sit at 9-2 and continue to find ways to win every week. They have a huge lead in their division but should have their sights set on catching the Eagles for the top seed in the NFC.

The Vikings have had their way so far with the AFC East going 3-0 against the Dolphins, Bills, and Patriots. Minnesota has won the last two meetings against the Jets but New York leads the all-time series 8-3.

The Jets have been playing very well on the road this year. They are 4-1 through five games away from Metlife Stadium. New York’s defense particularly has been traveling well this year, only averaging 14.4 points per game given up by the defense.

  • Under: -106

I think this game has a good chance to go over the total. The Vikings have a strong passing offense that ranks seventh in the NFL at 240.9 yards per game. They have a bunch of weapons at their disposal that will make it hard for any defense.

Justin Jefferson leads the way as he has become one of the best receivers in the NFL. Adam Thielen is a great complement to Jefferson and trade deadline acquisition T.J. Hockenson is getting more and more comfortable with his new team.

Quietly, Dalvin Cook is still producing at a high level. He has 841 rushing yards this season and is averaging 4.7 yards per carry.

I am also expecting New York to put up points. Minnesota’s passing defense is ranked last in the NFL allowing 276.1 yards per game. With Mike White leading the offense, they could be in for another explosive outing in Minnesota.

I anticipate this game going over the total.

New York Jets @ Minnesota Vikings injuries

New York got healthier last week with offensive tackle Max Mitchell returning to the active roster. Robert Saleh said running back Michael Carter has a low ankle sprain and is listed as day-to-day.

The Vikings are also pretty healthy everywhere but in their secondary. The cornerback room took another hit as starter Andrew Booth will now be out for the season.

Other key players like Chrisitan Darrisaw, Akayleb Evans, and Dalvin Tomlinson all missed last week but their status for Sunday remains unclear.
